New Crisis Intervention Training Program

Beginning in April 2026, Summit DD is transitioning from offering PMT for crisis intervention to the Nisonger Crisis Prevention and Support (NCPS) program. Find out more about this new crisis intervention program.

Why is Summit DD making this change?

  • NCPS offers a more simplified training process
  • NCPS is built around common language and practice of Ohio rules to promote better understanding
  • NCPS offers local support and resources for DSPs and Trainers

NCPS Certifications:

  • The training program for NCPS covers 1 full day to obtain certification
  • Certification is active for 2 years
  • Classes will be held monthly at the Summit DD Administration Office
  • Summit DD will offer quarterly check-ins for NCPS certified DSPs with the Nisonger Training team for additional support

Please Note: Given the volume of providers in Summit County, we are asking everyone to utilize the online class registration for all NCPS trainings. Due to the limited number of trainers we have available, requests for special classes will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will be prioritized based on immediate need for individuals with challenging behaviors.

Registration Details

Registration will be limited to a maximum of 5 staff from the same agency, per class. If you are signing up multiple staff from your agency, please add all staff names to the list.

To register, please visit our Trainings tab.
