DODD Memo Highlights

  • The Federal Communication Commission launched a program to help households cover the cost of broadband. If someone in the household uses Life-Line, is enrolled on SSI/SSDI or using SNAP benefits they may be eligible. Click for details or how to apply for the Emergency Broadband Benefit.
  • Recently DODD updated the Free Choice of Provider rule. As part of this update, it is now prohibited to require a person served to select another waiver service to be a willing provider for the waiver service they are requesting. An example of this would be requiring all those who attend your agency’s day center services to also receive NMT. This is a change from what has previously been communicated. Person served free choice of provider rights will be communicated to them as part of the team planning process. Additional information on both of these updates can be found below. See the full 5/17/21 Monday Memo for details.
