As you may know, Individuals living in congregate settings (2 or more people) and the staff that support them are included in Phase 1 of the COVID-19 vaccine roll out. This means that there is a possibility that eligible individuals and staff may be able to receive the first dose of the vaccine as early as December 22nd. While there are still several details that need to be worked out at the state and local level, DODD has asked County Boards to submit all congregate living information.
To ensure the accuracy of this information, Drew Williams emailed agencies that (per an authorization report) are identified as providing congregate services. Please respond to that e-mail by end of business on Wednesday December 16th.
If you are an agency that supports congregate services and you did not receive an e-mail from him in the last 24 hours, please send Drew Williams (dr**********@su******.org) the following information.
- Congregate site address,
- number of people served living there and
- agency contact (name, email, phone)
This information must be sent by Wednesday December 16th.
DODD has requested this information by December 18th, and we want to make sure we have time to follow up if there are any questions.
To estimate the number of doses needed, DODD is assuming that for every person supported in a congregate service 3 staff support them. So, no staff information needs to be reported as part of the information being collected.
We have also been asked if shared living settings that support 2 or more people are part of phase 1. They are not. At this time, only congregate sites with two or more people and the staff are eligible for Phase 1 the of vaccine distribution. We will communicate any information regarding who is included in the other phases as information becomes available.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out
Once again thank you for all you have done to support people served during this crisis.
